Red Lava Rock

Red Lava Rock

Red Lava Rock is the vibrant, earthy counterpart to our classic Black Lava Rock. As a highly porous volcanic stone, it is a versatile staple in the hobby, widely used for both lush planted tanks and African Cichlid setups. This lightweight natural rock features a spectrum of deep brick-red to burnt-orange tones, providing a warm, organic contrast to green aquatic plants. The porosity of this natural stone makes it an excellent addition to your aquarium filtration system; its millions of tiny holes provide a massive surface area for beneficial nitrifying bacteria to colonize. The texture also makes it a perfect pick for anchoring mosses, ferns, and other epiphytic species. Red Lava Rock is also suitable for non-aquarium use and will work beautifully as a textured accent in terrariums, paludariums, or similar bioactive enclosures.

Stones vary in shape, size, and density.

Notes:

  • If you are looking for larger stones, a minimum weight may be required. Larger stones = higher weight. Email our team if you need assistance.
  • We recommend rinsing stones thoroughly before use to remove any natural dust or sediment.
  • Stone coloration darkens when wet.
