Perma-Seal is used to prevent leaks between the CO2 cylinder tank and the CO2 regulator. Using a Perma-Seal replaces the need for cheap plastic O-rings that are commonly used when installing CO2 Regulators onto the gas tank. Plastic o-rings need to be replaced periodically because the gas pressure distorts the plastic over time. If they aren't replaced, this has the potential to lead to CO2 leaks and frequent refills to provide a consistent flow of CO2 to a planted aquarium. There is no need for replacement with the Perma-seal. Simply screw it into the CGA-320 connection of your gas tank by using an Allen key before installing your CO2 regulator.
